Why we built Refront

Introduction

Two years ago, we were stuck in the same problem you probably know too well. We had clients, projects, and a team. But it felt like we spent more time on coordination than on actual work.

Tickets in Notion, communication in Slack, planning in Excel, invoicing in Exact. Each tool did its thing, but nothing talked to each other. The result? Double work, missed deadlines, and hours we could not invoice because we forgot to log them.

The problem we wanted to solve

If you have your own clients, you know this feeling. A client sends an email, you create a ticket, estimate the hours, schedule it, execute it, log your time, and send an invoice. Sounds simple. But in practice, something always falls through the cracks.

We noticed that we lost an average of 30% of our workable hours to administration and coordination. Not to client work, but to managing work. That had to change.

The first version was for ourselves

Refront did not start as a product. It started as an internal tool we built for ourselves. A simple system that connected tickets, quotes, and time tracking.

The first version was ugly and full of bugs. But it worked. Within a month, we noticed we spent less time on admin and more on real work. Revenue went up, not because we had more clients, but because we worked more efficiently.

From 100% to 200%

After six months, we had optimized our workflow so much that our revenue had increased by 200%. Not by working harder, but by working smarter.

The secret? AI that analyzes tickets and picks them up automatically. Hours directly linked to tasks. Quotes ready in minutes instead of hours. And invoicing that just works.

Why we share this

We could have kept Refront for ourselves. But we believe more teams deserve this. Not another tool that makes promises, but a system that actually works because it was built by people who had the same problem.

That is why we are making Refront public. Not perfect, but honest. Built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.

If you are stuck in your own workflow, know that you are not alone. And that there is a way to do it differently. We are the proof.
